Understanding and Promoting Medicaid to Age 26 for Former Foster Youth

Starting January 1, 2014, most young adults who were discharged from foster care at 18 or older and are still under 26 are eligible for Medicaid regardless of income. Young adults who left foster care after January 1, 2007 who are eligible may not be aware of this important benefit. The Schuyler Center has a toolkit of resources and a flyer to help with outreach efforts.
