Schuyler Center’s Last Look is a brief overview of how the enacted New York State 2019-2020 Budget advances policies that improve the health and well-being of all New Yorkers, especially those living in poverty. 

The Budget is largely disappointing in its failure to include bold proposals to provide the tens of thousands of families experiencing poverty or near poverty a pathway into economic security. Missing are significant investments in services proven to improve family economic security, strengthen families, and prevent child welfare involvement, like quality, affordable child care, evidence-based home visitation, family strengthening programs, and working family tax credits.  Read more.
